Cisco CCNP - BCMSN Exam Tutorial: Changing The Active Router In HSRP

to know HSRP inside and out. While the operation and basic commands of HSRP are pretty simple, there are some important details that are easily overlooked but are vital in getting HSRP to work the way you want it to. Let's take a look at using the priority command correctly on both the exam and in production networks.

A key value in the show standby command is the priority. The default is 100, and the router with the highest priority will be the primary HSRP router. We'll raise the default priority on R2 and see the results. R3 is currently the Active router and R2 the standby, so let's raise the priority on R2 and see what happens.

R2(config)#interface ethernet0

R2(config-if)#standby 5 priority 150

R2#show standby

Ethernet0 - Group 5

Local state is Standby, priority 150

Hellotime 4 sec, holdtime 12 sec

Next hello sent in 0.896

Virtual IP address is 172.12.23.10 configured

Active router is 172.12.23.3, priority 100 expires in 8.072

Standby router is local

1 state changes, last state change 00:14:24

R2 now has a higher priority, but R3 is still the active router. R2 will not take over as the HSRP primary until R3 goes down - OR the preempt option is configured on R2.

R2(config-if)#standby 5 priority 150 preempt

1d11h: %STANDBY-6-STATECHANGE: Ethernet0 Group 5 state Standby -> Active

R2#show standby

Ethernet0 - Group 5

Local state is Active, priority 150, may preempt

Hellotime 4 sec, holdtime 12 sec

Next hello sent in 1.844

Virtual IP address is 172.12.23.10 configured

Active router is local

Standby router is 172.12.23.3 expires in 10.204

Virtual mac address is 0000.0c07.ac05

2 state changes, last state change 00:00:13

In just a few seconds, a message appears that the local state has changed from standby to active. Show standby confirms that R2, the local router, is now the active router - the primary. R3 is now the standby. So if anyone tells you that you have to take a router down to change the Active router, they're wrong - you just have to use the preempt option on the standby priority command.

Another vital part of HSRP configurations is knowing how to change the MAC address of the virtual router, as well as interface tracking. We'll look at those features in the next part of my HSRP tutorial!

Yoga With Balance Ball?

A medicine ball is also commonly used by athletes who have sustained an injury, and seek rehabilitation. They are also extensively used by secondary schools as a fitness aid, by lifting the ball, or performing different exercises with the ball incorporated to increase the strain on a particular muscle.

What is A Swiss Ball?
A Swiss ball is a ball constructed of elastic rubber with a diameter of around 55 to 85 cm (22 to 34 inches). It is used in physical therapy and exercise.

Yoga with Balance Ball?
Doing yoga on a ball allows your body to open gently so you can keep your breath flowing and remain aware of signs of strain so you don't injure yourself. The balance ball supports you in certain poses and helps you modify each posture to suit your body.

Sit on The Ball!
Sitting on a ball instead of a chair is a great way to keep your spine healthy. Try to sit on a ball for at least part of your work day, if you have a desk job. When you sit on a ball, you're forced to sit up with good posture because you have nothing to lean back on. Also, because the ball rolls around, it keeps you on your toes and keeps your body moving, which help prevent the stiffness and back pain that you can get from being too sedentary.

Bent Knee Bridge for Buttocks and hamstrings
How to do it: Lie on your back with your knees bent and your heels resting on top of the ball. Spread your arms out on either side of you. Lift your butt off the floor while squeezing it, and push your hips toward the ceiling. Pause at the top of the movement, then go back to the starting position. The following are some guidelines in planning and running a medicine ball session :-

1. Always ensure the athletes carry out a thorough warm up and warm down
2. Before starting a session, explain the procedures for each exercise with your athletes
3. Partners who feed the medicine ball on certain exercises should be well drilled on what is required
4. Medicine ball exercises must precede high intensity work
5. Start sessions with lighter less dynamic exercises, then progress to heavier exercises
6. The program should have exercises that match the pattern of movements of the sport
7. Plan the program to exercise alternate body parts (legs, upper body, torso)
8. You will need to have a number of different weights of ball available - heavy, medium and light

A primary benefit of exercising with a Swiss ball as opposed to exercising directly on a hard flat surface is that the body responds to the instability of the ball to remain balanced, engaging many more muscles to do so. Those muscles become stronger over time to keep balance.

Health Care Education in the 21st Century

The health care industry and the Internet have always made uneasy bedfellows, although the relationship has improved dramatically in recent years. Initially, when the Internet was less regulated, health care professionals were crying foul at the proliferation of unlicensed pharmacies and unlicensed practitioners doing business via the World Wide Web. While those complaints have subsided coinciding with a new set of laws for e-commerce, many health care professionals are still wary of the influence of the Internet on the industry as a whole. Some medical practitioners lauded the onslaught of web sites that offer free medical information while others saw it as an intrusion to their authority. Health care education suffered the same fate for quite some time. While many in the medical community saw an opportunity to expand the opportunities for health care education, others were skeptical.

Today, it is accepted that an online education is just as viable for most areas of study as a traditional campus education. While there are some positions in health care that will always require hands on learning, many can be effectively taught online. Most universities that offer online curriculum are now making degree programs in health care available. Administrative programs are the most widely offered, although there are several that lean toward the clinical side of the industry. Nurses, in particular, have a variety of choices when it comes to online education. Several bachelors of Science degrees in nursing have become a popular way for nurses with LPN or RN licensure to advance their education.

The emergence of online educational opportunities for the health care industry will have a positive effect in the next several years. With an aging baby boomer population, positions in health care are expected to rise well above the average for all other industries. New positions will be created and both new and existing positions will need to be filled. Online degree programs offer many the chances to work in the health care industry that otherwise might not be able to because of scheduling conflicts that keep them from attending traditional universities.

Wholesale Jordan Sneakers

There is very little that people do not know about the Jordan sneakers, and based on the rush that is created everytime wholesale Jordan sneakers are available (www.urbanhotlist.com), the craze for the shoe is still on. However, do you know the basics that need to be followed when buying a shoe for getting the best fit for your feet?

Experts advise that shoes need to be bought always in the evening. Not because of any type of superstition, but because this is the time when your feet are most swollen and hence, you will know whether the shoe will be comfortable or not. Whether you are buying ordinary day-to-day wear shoes, office wear or wholesale Jordan sneakers, this is a point that you should keep in mind, if you care about your feet's comfort.

Next you should ensure you always buy at reputed shops. In this way you will be least likely to be cheated or sold cheap replicas or reproductions without your knowledge. Even if you go for replicas, you still gain if you buy them from reputed shops, as they would insist on basic norms of quality, as compared to smaller and unrecognized shops, where the bottom line will be to make some profit. Wholesale Jordan sneakers (www.urbanhotlist.com) make a great bargain and many retail shops sell them at wholesale price during regular sales. All you need is to keep a watch and learn when the shop has their next sale.
There is another point that you should keep in mind when you buy your shoes, i.e. the right size. The best size of the shoe will be having a gap of at least 3/8th inch in front of the longest toe you have. Good quality sports shoes, including wholesale Jordan sneakers, will provide you perfect fit for your feet because they are constructed specifically to give the highest comfort.

Experts advise that you change your shoes, regardless whether the shoe has any notable wear or not. This is because the benefits of the shoe on the foot wears off after a certain amount of usage, even if you do not see it from the outside, and hence, without knowing you will be damaging your feet. Even when you buy a good sneaker such as wholesale Jordan sneakers, you will still need to change it after a maximum of 500 miles of walking on it. By the way, in order to accommodate the need to know how much you have walked, new shoes are coming out which will have speedometers and mileage meters inbuilt. Now, this is a innovation that would make some waves.

3 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Music Lessons

Whether you are using a book, video, a real live human, or online lessons, keep these pointers in mind in order to get the most out our your studies.

1. Complete and master each section before moving on to the next: As you work through your studies make sure you have each new technique or idea conquered before moving on to the next. Lessons are planned to build upon each other and trying to rush through without fully understanding one will just lead to frustration and wasted efforts.

2. Study as if you were in school. Do some homework every night. If all you have is 15 minutes then use those 15 minutes. If you don't have time to read/watch and apply then do the application of your last lesson or drills such as scales and chords. Reading/watching and not having the opportunity to apply immediately will usually mean you have to relearn your lesson. Take notes. Especially if you're watching a video or working with a human. Also don't be afraid to write all over your workbooks and sheet music.

3. Apply what you've learned: Play for others. Your church, your family, that spare piano sitting in your favorite department store (ask first). Nothing drives a music lesson home better than a recital. It will also magnify what you need to work on.

These tips work whether your a child or an adult. Learning to play an instrument is a wonderful activity.

Wind Turbines

History of Wind Turbines

The first wind machines were used in Persia, as far back as 200 B.C for the purposes of grinding grain. By 250 A.D the Romans began to use the same process for the same purpose. The Dutch started using windmills to drain water from the areas lying in the Rhine River delta.

Windmills began to be used for the production of electricity in the year 1888, and the first such windmill, meaning the first wind turbine was built by Charles F Brush in Cleveland, Ohio. By the year 1908, some 72 wind turbines were being used to produce electricity between the ranges of 5 kilowatt to 25 kilowatt. Windmills to produce electricity were commonly found on farms by the 1930s in the Unites States.

Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines

The Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines or HAWT house an electric generator and the main rotator shaft at the top of a tower. Both need to be pointed into the wind, for generation of electricity. A wind vane is usually enough for this purpose in the case of small turbines, but in the case of large turbines, a servo motor coupled with a wind sensor is used to point into the wind. The rotation of the blades is controlled by a gearbox which increases the rotational speed of the blades as and when required.
The turbine is usually pointed in the upwind direction so as to protect it from the turbulence created by the tower. Many a time’s downwind machines are also built in a bid to combat the problem of turbulence. Such machines preclude the use of additional mechanism in order to keep the turbine in line with the wind; this is because the blades can be allowed to be bent during high winds.

Vertical Axis Wind Turbines

Vertical Axis Wind Turbines or VAWTs, have vertical alignment of the shaft. One of the most important advantages of such turbines is that there is no need for the turbine to be pointed into the wind for efficacy. These wind turbines are generally used on sites that witness a variable wind direction. A wind force from any direction can be used by Vertical Axis Wind Turbines. The presence of vertical axis means that the both the gearbox and the generator can be placed near ground as there is no need for the tower to offer it support. This also means that the gearbox and the generator are accessible when it comes to the maintenance of the wind turbines.

Wind Turbines â€" Design and Construction

It is the job of the wind turbines to exploit the wind energy existing at a particular location. Designers and builders use the aerodynamic modeling for the determination of the various control systems to be used, number of blades, shapes of the blade, and the optimum height of the tower.

The modern wind turbine is primarily used for conversion of wind energy into electricity energy. In accordance with this purpose, the wind turbine has three major components, namely the rotor component, the generator component, and the structural component. Almost 20% of the cost of the wind turbine is taken up by the rotor component, while an approximate 34% of the cost is consumed by the generator component. 15% of the cost of the wind turbine is taken up the structural component.

These days' environmental activists are championing the use of wind turbines, for the production of electricity as they are environment friendly and if at all, release only a minimal amount of pollutants.

Tumor Brain Swelling

Originally, the word Tumor, means "swelling". Often times it is still used with this mean, but more so a Tumor meaning swelling is among the five major classic characteristics of imflammation. In modern science the term Tumor is primarily saved to denote the abnormal growth of tissue.

There are two major types of tumors: Malignant and Benign

Malignant Tumors are called also known as cancer. Cancer in this form has the readily available potential to invade and destory bordering tissues. Benign Tumors on the other hand do not invade the bordering tissues, or create metastases, rather they may localy grow to a great size. Under normal circumstances Benign Tumors will not return once they have been removed surgically.

The older a person gets the more mutations they have accumulated amongst their DNA, which makes them more prone to tumors. With that in mind, age is a factor, and with increasing age, the likelyhood of developing a tumor increases. Also known is that the older an individual who is affected with a tumor is, the higher the odds that the tumor will be malignant.

Tumors are causes by mutations that can occur in DNA of our bodies cells. A single mutation is not sufficient for a tumor to develop but rather an accumulation of multiple. The most common type of tumor that we hear about on a day to day basis is a "Brain Tumor"

Basketball Training Aids to Improve Your Game

How Can You Stop Repossession?

The threat of repossession is a real one to many people. When the economy is good, mortgage lenders are willing to lend many times your salary at low interest rates. If interest rates rise, however, or your experience job loss, sickness, divorce or other circumstances that reduce your income, you could find yourself in mortgage trouble.

Once your mortgage company has started repossession proceedings, it's easy to give in and let the court process take its course, but there are ways that you can slow down and even stop the repossession process:

1. Talk to your mortgage company

Even at the last minute, it's possible to work out a deal with your mortgage company. Whether it's raising additional money to clear your debts, or just agreeing a new payment plan, your mortgage company should be willing to come to an agreement with you. Don't think that because you have been given a date for the courts to consider a repossession order that you don't have time to sort things out.

2. Be prepared

If you do have to go to court, make sure you are fully prepared. Keep copies of all the letters and other correspondence you have had with the mortgage company, work out a detailed daily expenditure that shows where you can save money so that you can begin paying your debts and be ready to explain to the court why you are in payment difficulties in the first place. The court may grant an adjournment or delay the repossession order if you can show that you are prepared to take your financial responsibilities seriously. 3. Seek advice

If you are in danger of losing your home to the mortgage company, then take legal and financial advice to ensure that you are doing everything possible to avoid repossession. A good legal adviser will make sure that the mortgage company is following due process and not making it unreasonably difficult for you to make payments and clear your debts. They can also help you if you need to go to court, explaining the process and making sure that you have all the supporting documentation you need.

A specialist financial adviser can arrange short-notice loans, which can help you to get out of trouble. With just a few days notice and with access to dedicated lenders, they can arrange a loan that allows you to pay off your debts and start afresh. They can also arrange a quick house sale, without the need for estate agents fees or a lengthy sales procedure, which means that you raise the money you need with the minimum hassle.

Gas is important

In todays modern economy, Gas & Oil, have become such important aspects, that it would be safe to say that we rely on them. A few examples are gas in our cars, for our furnaces, and the production of plastics. How much do you really know about Gas though?

A gas is one of the different phases of matter. Similar to liquids and plasmas, gases are fluids. This means that they have the ability to flow and that they will not usually return to their prior stage after they have been deformed. This doesn't mean that they don't have viscosity. A property of a gas that is different from that of a liquid is that; a gas does not occupy a fixed space or volume, but will instead expand to fill whatever container it is in, this is opposite of a liquid that will remain the same.

After Plasma, gas has the second highest energy per molecule. Due to this extreme amount of kinetic energy, gas atoms and molecules of gas will usually bounce off any container they are placed in, and even off of eachother. This bouncing will occur with more power as the kinetic energy of the gas is increased. Many people, incorrectly believe that when these molecules collide provide the main basis in explaining gas pressure. This is not true because the random velocities of the gas are enough to define the gas pressure. Not to leave these collisions in the dark, as they are very important in establishing the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution of the gas.

It's interesting how we use the word "gas" every single day, and all that we relate it to is the rising gas prices, or something that we get when we eat too many beans. There is alot more to gas then that, and is an important part of our everyday lives.

Is There An Environmental Problem?

There is enormous talk about there being an environmental problem. Is it effecting you or your children? Will it effect your children and grand children? You be the judge. The jury say there sure is.

The U.S. Census Bureau states that the world population is expanding at an alarming rate. In 1800 the world population was estimated at one billion people and two billion by the year 1922. In the year 2000 population was at six billion worldwide. Researcher are estimating that this will grow by one half time to nine billion in the year 2050.

Now what do those numbers mean to our environment?

Simply put that in 2050 we will have 25% less natural resources per capita than people had in 1950. So with the growth of population our fixed amount of natural resources will have to be stretched further. What will that growth do to our greenhouse gas emissions? So if we keep living as we are, changing nothing, what kind of world are our children and grand children going to live in?

We want our children to have a better lifestyle, or at least comparable to ours. We save to further their education, their weddings and yes sometimes even what they will inherit. What we are not saving for them are the most important things, clean air, water, land, and an abundance of natural resources. We are not saving their health or the planet they live on. Instead we are leaving them a huge environmental problem full of health risks. Fact: A carrot grown in 2002 has about a seventh of the beta-carotene as a carrot grown in 1950?

Some of the biggest threats to our future stems from the home and our family. From the dangerous chemicals used when cleaning your house to what you put in your trash bag.

Fact: House hold batteries can leak dangerous chemicals over time and should not be sent to landfills.

What happens to those Household chemicals that you pour down the drain or out behind the house. They can pollute the ground water that will eventually make it to aquifers and turn into tap water. This can also contaminate the soil in which our food is grown. Many of these chemical can not be removed from drinking water or from crops harvested in contaminated fields. Ever wonder where your waters been or what was in the field that potato was grown in.

Fact: Indoor air is more polluted than outdoor air.

So, what can you do to help solve the environmental problem we all face. You can Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. I know you have heard it for years, but its time to take it seriously. Be aware of what you do. One person can make a difference.

Learning Guitar Scales - 3 Tips To Accelerate Your Progress

Learning guitar scales can be a very frustrating experience for many guitarists. It's very easy to feel totally overwhelmed with just how much needs to be learnt. To learn and master every possible guitar scale out there would take many lifetimes. Because of this, many guitarists find it hard even knowing where to start!

In this article I'll reveal three powerful tips to help you in your quest for guitar scale mastery. They are designed to help reduce any feelings of overwhelm that you may currently have. Let's take a look at the tips now…

**Tip #1: Develop a written plan for learning guitar scales.**

This is really important. It is vital to introduce some structure into your scale learning process. Rather than aimlessly practicing guitar scales, you want to become laser focused. This is achieved by writing down things such as…

- How much time each day you will devote to scale practice.
- What guitar scales you need to learn, in order to play the style of music that you love.
- What keys are the most common to the style of music that you play.
- What specific guitar scale exercises you will learn.
- What books, DVDs and other resources you will use to learn scales.
- What specific things that you don't understand yet.

If you don't know how to work out the stuff above, then I recommend booking some lessons with a professional guitar tutor. Make sure that they can play the style of music that you love. It's not much point asking a classical guitar tutor what scales you need to learn for jazz guitar! **Tip #2: Learn one scale at a time.**

I can't stress this tip enough. A major reason why many guitarists never master guitar scales is that they try to learn too many at once. This usually causes them to learn scales on a very superficial level. They may know lots of scales, but they definitely haven't mastered any. This causes them to sound very unmusical when they improvise. They just sound like they are running up-and-down scales.

**Tip #3: Don't worry about trying to learn guitar scales in all 12 keys.**

This advice goes against what a lot of guitar tutors and guitar books say. The reason why I say it is simple…

Trying to learn all scales in all 12 keys leads to a feeling of overwhelm for most guitarists! It can take months to learn a scale to mastery in one key. Especially if you want to know that scale over the entire fretboard AND be able to improvise fluently with it. For some guitarists, just thinking that they need to do this in all 12 keys is too much. They just give up! Here is a much better approach…

1. Find out what the most common keys are for the style of music that you play.

2. List the keys in order. You will put the most common key at the top, and the least common key at the bottom.

3. Master the key that is at the top of the list.

4. Master, (one at a time), the rest of the keys on your list.

There we have it! Implement these three tips and turbo-charge your ability to learn guitar scales!

Respect Your Thoughts With A PDF Converter Tool

If your thoughts or ideas are important to you and to others, respect and protect both parts by using a PDF converter tool!

Whenever an exchange of information is needed we worry for the accuracy of the document, for its reliability.

In many cases, the receiver may be confronted with the corruption of the file he or she has received. Or, when the structure of the text, table etc. is important, you may find yourself with a document that is not identical to the one you knew you should have received. Things change their places, columns and rows go crazy and you don't have the necessary time to put things together again and it's not even your duty to do that, but unfortunately, you cannot use that chaotical document. More than that! If your boss receives such a mess, it will be your mistake and your precious time lost. And even more! Changing roles, if you are the boss, imagine the confusion among the employees! And the impression they'll have!

The answer is simple: don't let a document ruin your day when you can simply "print" it virtually in a PDF file!

And one thing is for sure: time and quality always matters more than you think!

But let's see more about this little favor you can make yourself. If the content is very important, a PDF format file can assure you that nobody will be able to modify your work if you protect it with the 128 bit encryption mechanism. For example, if you are a teacher, you definitely don't want to see your lectures modified by whoever thinks his or her thoughts are more worthy! And you have a responsibility of the accuracy of the information that your students will learn. PDF files are the easiest way to guarantee the integrity of your ideas
If the quantity of the documents is too large and getting them seems an eternity just "print" them in a PDF format that has other advantages: they are smaller, can merge multiple files into a single PDF file, can change file order, it has several compression settings, you can protect it with a password.

A PDF file guarantees faster, cheaper and less complex viewing. The navigating, storing and printing processes will be a relieve! Document workflow will become more reliable, with PDF documents maintaining their very high quality, regardless of where they are sent or who views the documents.
And don't tell me that you've never seen one before! PDF has become a global document exchange format due to its many important features.

So respect your thoughts and the others by using Adolix PDF Converter. Don't "take your time" anymore, because time is too important to correct stupid mistakes!

Enrolling In Online Home Schooling The Easiest Way

The number of parents that choose to enroll their child online for home schooling is expanding. Its popularity among other parents and parents-to-be is vastly increasing. Some parents want it because it is more convenient when it comes to the financial aspects. Some parents do not have enough money to be able to send their children to private schools.

With each passing year, tuition fees are soaring. No wonder many parents insist on not bringing their child to school but there are more reasons. There are some advantages as well as disadvantages to home schooling. But it is still up to you which school to choose. One reason why many people enroll their children to this kind of schooling is that they have more control. Control on what? It is control on the subjects and lessons to learn and the control on whom you want to influence your children.

Quality education is every parent's desire for their kids. Some people think that they will be able to teach their child more when he's taught at home rather than in the school itself. Moreover, some say that they could choose the subjects to focus on and properly incorporate them in their children's minds.

After all, some schools have that lack of input and other factors as well that could hinder their learning needs. In addition, some parents point out that they can be in charge of the curriculum, as well as go to the easy lessons and focus on harder subjects. Furthermore, some schools do not have very efficient teachers with appropriate teaching methods.
Aside from the control over the educational process, some parents who have chosen to home school their child believe that they are actually getting a far more enhanced course of education. In this way, they are given assurance that they are properly and effectively taught and educated. Moreover, they believe that the parent-children bond is strengthened and the family ties are kept intact. They believe that it enriches their relationship with one another.

On the other hand, some people say that home schooling may harm or endanger a child's social interaction as well as their emotional relationship with other people. They believe that there are opportunities that may cause certain social problems. With those mentioned above, there are many schools that are computer-aided. Various associations and organizations have created home schooling that provides computer-aided instruction. You can visits some sites online and to find these organizations. It is good that you canvass first and be aware of their rules, policies, and regulations.

Look for their accreditations. See also if they have activities and events that may give you more information on their curriculum and with this, you can make your decision. It is predicted that home schooling will be become more popular and will be utilized more towards achieving quality education that every child needs and wants.

How To Pick A Profitable Mutual Fund

We have all heard the advantages of investing in a mutual fund over trying to pick individual stocks. First of all mutual funds hire professional analysts that are market experts and devout many hours of study to the various stocks. Unless you want to devout a large portion of your free time to the study of the financial reports, you probably won't have as much information to make a decision as a mutual fund manager.

Then there is the well documented advantage of diversification. Risk is reduced by holding several non correlated investments. Put simply, some go up, some go down and combined, the return levels off the fluctuations, or risk.

Finally, a mutual fund offers smaller investors a chance to invest in small increments rather than having to save a large chunk of cash to purchase 100 shares of stock.

Given the above advantages, it's no wonder that mutual funds have become a very popular form of investing. Now there are thousands of mutual funds to choose from, so how does one make a selection? Here are a few tips:

1. Do not be seduced to jump on the recently performing best fund. It may seem like the safe and rational thing to do, but like individual stocks, you want to buy low and sell high, not buy high and pray for more growth.

2. Even good funds may not be able to overcome the force of the overall market. You should be looking for funds that can exceed the broad market without increasing risk. Each fund has certain risk parameters that it is required to follow. Read the prospectus closely to understand what these are.

3. Limit the number of funds that you own. Unless you are trying to simply achieve the same returns as the broad market, diversifying into many mutual funds will not reduce your risk or increase your return by much.

4. Funds that become too popular and too big tend to slip in performance. There are several reasons for this.

Upstart Palestinian Group Urges Israel To Keep Hamas Government; They Don't Want It Anymore

An admittedly small upstart group of Palestinians, comparing the quality of their governance with the orderly procedures in Israel, have decided the best thing that can happen to them is to give up on their own government.

As a result, they are asking Israel to keep the members of the Hamas government the Israelis arrested in response to the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier by militants.

Even more surprisingly, they are advocating a one-state solution, with the Gaza Strip and West Bank volunteering to become part of Israel.

To let their voices be heard, they took to the streets, waving banners that read, "Palestine, No; Israel, Yes!"; "I Almost Speak Hebrew Already"; and "Let's Make A Deal."

Israel reacted with caution to the unexpected development, with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert saying, "Let them return our soldier; then maybe we can talk."

When a reporter pointed out that if Gaza and the West Bank became part of Israel, the soldier would technically already be in Israel, Olmert replied, "Yes, but we want him back in his own home, and we want him there alive. Then we can do a headcount."

Asked what he meant by a headcount, he said, "As you know, we insist that Israel have a Jewish majority. It's only fair that, in the entire Middle East, there should be at least one country that does. After all, our ancestors were here, too, and that's why we set up the country. So we have to determine with that many more Palestinians in Israel, do we have a Jewish majority? Right now, I'd say no way, Hosni."

The reporter asked, "Then the latest Palestinian proposal Israel to become a one-state solution would not be acceptable to you?"

"I don't see how, unless they agreed to limit procreation for a few decades while the Israelis agreed to step on the gas. Then maybe we could work something out."

"Such as?"

"Oh, maybe they could have our government without voting rights. You must remember that one of the inconvenient things about having a Palestinian majority that could vote is that I could be replaced by a Palestinian. We can't have that. But I would like to see both Israelis and Palestinians happy." "Happy? Wow, that's asking a lot, isn't it?" the reporter commented. "Has that condition ever prevailed in the Middle East?"

"Not in my lifetime, but I'm an idealist," Olmert replied. "To tell the truth, we should all only be happy in this region. It would be the greatest thing since sliced Challah bread."

Then his mind wandered back, searching for a time when people in the Middle East might have been happy. "You know, happiness for everyone in this region would be almost as great as the wonderful day the burning bush lit up and God waved Moses over to give him the Ten Commandments. By the way, did you ever think how extraordinary it is that the finger of God came out of the bush and carved the Commandments in stone just for Moses?"

"Well," the reporter said, considering the matter, "let's just say I never had a bush light up to give me a message."

"Oh, I don't know many people who have. But, what's even more extraordinary is, when he came down and saw the Israelites worshipping the golden calf, he threw the stone tablets down and broke them. But we still have them."

"Yes, we do. What do you think he did, pieced them back together again?"

"Maybe. But I like to imagine a more dramatic sequel. What if he went back up, apologized to the bush, and asked for another copy?"

"Oh, well, that's interesting."

"Yes," the prime minister went on, "And, to prove the generosity of God, he got it! To me the second copy is as important to me as the Christian Second Coming. Well, so much for Biblical chitchat. I must get back to governing Israel, regardless of whether it will only be to govern what we consider the current state of Israel or we decide the Palestinians can have our government, too."

10 Career Change Myths

Career Myth #1: You can't make a living doing something you really, truly love

This is the grand-daddy of career myths, the belief that you can't have a "practical" career doing something that you were passionate about. It has to be one or the other.

This myth is rooted in fear. Fear that we have to sacrifice our happiness to make a living. Don't buy the myth that you can't earn a living by doing what you love.

When I first started coaching, I heard from plenty of people that it would be very difficult to make a living doing this work. I just decided to find coaches who were successful, and to learn from them (simple, eh?).

If you find yourself buying into this myth, consider this question - As you look back on your life, what will you regret more? Following your passion or following your fears?

Career Myth #2: It's a tough job market/economy

Even when the newspapers and other news sources say that unemployment numbers remain steady, that job growth is at a standstill, or that we're experiencing slow economic recovery, not to mention downsizing and outsourcing, don't believe it.

It's a myth because it doesn't reflect the whole story, the fact that that it's a different job market today. It's a changing economy. How we transition from job-to-job is different. Hiring practices have shifted. So the job market has changed, but that doesn't necessarily make it tougher. What makes it tougher is that we've been slower to change. We've held on to old practices and old behaviors. That's not to say that old ways still don't work, but they're just not as effective.

So I challenge you to just believe that it's a perfect job market for you to find work. I've had my college students try this, just for a week, and, more times than not, several of them find job leads or make important connections during the week.

Career Myth #3: Changing careers is risky

What's riskier than leaving what you know to pursue the unknown? Changing careers means leaving behind a piece of your identity - your "I'm a lawyer" response to the "what-do-you-do?" question. It might mean admitting to yourself that you made a mistake with an initial career choice. Or it might mean acknowledging that you're unsure of what's next. And smart people always know what's next, right?

Nope. Successful career changers often don't have a plan. In Working Identity: How Successful Career Changers Turn Fantasy into Reality by Herminia Ibarra, she provided evidence that waiting until you have a plan is actually riskier than just doing and experimenting.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, is riskier than not changing careers if you're longing to do so. Here's why: The longing won't go away. It will always be there, under the surface, waiting for you to do something about it.

Career Myth #4: Always have a back-up plan

Sometimes having a back-up plan is the smart and prudent course of action. Back-up plans are so grown-up and responsible. But what happens when you're standing with one foot in and one foot out? In my experience, we usually close the door and retreat. We are reluctant to commit to ourselves, and we end up denying ourselves the satisfaction of playing full-out, getting dirty and sweaty. We end up with feelings of regret and the nagging "What if?" question.

Back-up plans diffuse our energy. Diffused energy equals diffused results. Give all that you've got to your dream/passion/risk and you've got a better chance of being successful.

Career Myth #5: There's a perfect job out there for everyone

How long have you been searching for yours? You just know, deep inside, that there's an ideal job that's perfect for you out there. It matches your personality, skills, and interests to a tee. And it pays well. If only you could figure it out. If only you knew what it was.

Is there a perfect job out there for you? No. And here's the good news - there are more jobs than you can imagine that would be "perfect" for you. Chances are you've even come very, very close to a few of those perfect jobs already. So what happened? And how do you recognize one of these so-called "perfect jobs"?

Ever see the perfect gift for someone, but it was months till his or her birthday? Then when you go to find the item later, you can't. Another lost opportunity and you, once again, berate yourself for not buying it when you first saw it.

So maybe you've run into a perfect job in the past, but because of the timing, you passed by the opportunity. Or maybe you were so focused on something else, that you missed an obvious clue. Instead of dwelling on the past, which you can't change, vow to keep your eyes open and to look beyond the obvious. <
Career Myth #6: Asking "What's the best thing for me to do?" is the right question

This is one of the most common questions asked when considering a career change or a career move. It seems like a logical analysis - weigh the pros and cons and evaluate the balance.

Do not ask yourself this question!! It rarely leads you to the answers you're seeking. It will lead you to feeling overwhelmed with options (sound familiar?), or feeling like you have to choose what's practical over what seems to be impractical.

The question that will lead you to answers is simple (but not easy!!) It is "What do I really want to do?" This is a very different question than "what's best?"

Career Myth #7: If you don't like your job, you're probably in the wrong career

Cause and effect, right? One way to tell if you're in the right career is whether or not you like your job. If you're dissatisfied with your job, it's probably a sign that you need to re-examine your whole career choice. This is frequently what I hear from new clients who have decided to work with a career coach. They know something isn't right because they don't like their jobs. Their natural assumption is that their dissatisfaction is a symptom of a larger underlying issue - their career choice.

This is an example of false logic. Not liking your job might be telling you you're in the wrong job. It doesn't necessarily mean you're in the wrong career. It doesn't even mean you're in the wrong job. You could just be working for the wrong person or the wrong company. It takes a skillful approach to discern the source of discontent, and I think it's very hard to do it on your own (shameless plug for career coaches here!)

Career Myth #8: Everyone needs a mission statement

Do you know what your mission is? Mission statements are supposed to guide us, keep us on track, and help us move forward. But what if you don't have one? Does that mean you're destined to never fulfill your potential career-wise?

A client who was a successful professional contacted me because she was at a career crossroads. She felt that if only she could find her mission in life, she would know which career path to take.

She had a clear goal for coaching - find her mission! Instead, the most amazing thing happened. She decided that she didn't need a mission. She chose to trust that she was already fulfilling her mission statement, even though she didn't know what it was. After the client shifted her focus from finding her mission to living her life, an amazing opportunity came her way and she pursued it.

Here's a little tip: If your mission statement is elusive, stop chasing it. Be still and let it find you. And in the meantime, keep living your life and see what happens.

Career Myth #9: Expect a career epiphany

When you see a link to "Find Your Dream Job," do you immediately click on it to see what's there? Do you look at every "Top Ten Career" list out there to see if anything catches your interest? Do you know your MBTI type? If you do, you might be falling prey to the career epiphany myth.

I'd love, love, love it if most of my clients had a career epiphany that indicated to them, in crystal-clear terms, their next step. Instead, I see career "unfoldings" or a journey of discovery much more regularly. That is, being willing to not ignore the obvious, the pokes, the prods, and listen carefully to the whisper within. Yep, forget harp music and angels, for most of us, the career epiphany is a quiet whisper.

Career Myth #10: Ignoring your career dissatisfaction will make it go away

Oh, if only this worked in the long run!! Granted, it does work at first. When you find yourself beginning to question your career, you'll find it's rather easy to push the thoughts aside and pretend they aren't there. You know what I'm talking about: the "what ifs" and the list of regrets.

Over time, the random thoughts become nagging thoughts. You spend more and more time daydreaming about options. You build your list of reasons to ignore your growing career dissatisfaction:

  • You're too old.
  • You don't want to take a pay cut.
  • You don't want to go back to school.
  • You missed your opportunity 5, 10, 15 years ago.

Ethical and Religious Considerations in Physician Assisted Suicide

None of us know what we would choose at the end of our life regarding assisted suicide. It is, therefore, a worthy idea to ponder long before we get to that place at the end of our lives whereby we may actually have to make one. In our lives, our soul does have a path that is chosen for us if we look for it. I would encourage you to follow that one. For the spiritual life is what brought your life into being, and the spiritual life will lead you home.

Some terminally ill patients are in so much pain that they would rather end their life than to go on suffering and experience a poor quality of life. Because of physical and mental limitations, people in pain have a much different view on living than people with good health. This altered view makes some choose certain courses of care in a debilitating illness he or she may not even consider in a healthy state of being. Many healthcare providers claim that terminally ill people's pain can be controlled to tolerable levels with good pain management, yet there are tens of millions of patients who do not have access to adequate pain management in the U.S. alone.

Many religious organizations believe that suffering can be used to purify us. This purification can be for the caregiver and for the patient. It is a time to learn and be aware how the body becomes more soul in the process of transformation associated with dying and death. Christians believe that life is a gift from God and God does not send us any experience we cannot handle. Islam states in the Qur'an, "Take not life which Allah made sacred otherwise than in the course of justice." And "Since we did not create ourselves, we do not own our bodies." Orthodox Judaism states that "This is an issue of critical constitutional and moral significance which Jewish tradition clearly speaks to. We believe that the recognition of a constitutionally recognized right to die for the terminally ill is a clear statement against the recognition and sanctity of human life…."<
t is clearly evident that religious influence upon PAS deems such an act as going against one's Creator, and as such, the need to pray and discern the direction of one's life and dying should be in the consultation of clerical status of one's own faith. To override such influence would take an autonomous individual whose beliefs have taken him or her from what can be known religiously to what can be known through them by the same force that gave them life. It is here that terminal patients choose a course of action from the core on one's being transcending his or her belief in their creator (religiously) leading to an active participation of one's assessed values (personal transformations) that includes their religious influence, but it is not limited to it as well.

Using Long Lenses

Using a telephoto lens to get in close to the action or sneak up on a subject from a discreet distance is terrifically exciting, and can yield great pictures. But the high magnification of long tele and zoom lenses accentuates the effects of camera shake caused by your inability to hold the camera and lens absolutely still. The effects of wind, moving or shaking floors, residual vibration from camera mirrors flipping up just prior to exposure, atmospheric haze, and heat waves can also add problems.

Cold, tired, been drinking stimulants (coffee, tea, or cola)? They add to your problems. Avoid them all if you can and don't despair.

When handholding your camera and lens, start with a fast film, ISO 400 or higher. This will allow you to use higher shutter speeds (1/1000 sec and above) and minimize the effects of shake in a variety of lighting conditions. Use the proper stance: arms closely tucked into the body, elbows partially supported by the chest or abdomen, lens and camera balanced by the left hand and arm.

Practice supporting and focusing the camera with your left hand, aim the camera slightly above the subject, take a deep breath, let the view drop to the proper composition while exhaling, and gently press the shutter.

For support, find a fence post, parked car, or folded jacket. Lean on it or rest your camera on top of it while shooting. If you have such a support, a 1/30 second exposure isn't an impossibility, even with a 500mm lens. You'll be using slower shutter speeds more often than you'd like. The minimum shutter speed rule of thumb for hand-holding a long tele or zoom lens is this: Slowest safe shutter speed = 1 over the lens focal length.

For example, if you're shooting with a 500mm f/4 lens, the limiting shutter speed for a handheld shot would be 1 /500 second at the correct aperture for a good exposure. This rule applies to a properly-braced photographer standing on solid ground.

Chest braces, rifle stocks, and similar devices aren't as practical as a lightweight monopod or tripod. A monopod is easy to carry, and you can set it up just about anywhere.

It won't allow you to set shutter speeds as slow as you can get away with using a tripod. But it will let you shoot safely-that is, without a serous risk of image-softening shake-at speeds two or three steps slower than you'd have to use if you were shooting handheld. That may make it possible to shoot in lower light, and/or to use a slower, finer-grained film.

Get a monopod that can be raised to your eye level, is quick and easy to set up. If you shoot a lot of verticals, you may want to add a good swivel ball head for maneuverability.

A tripod is the best device for insuring minimal effects from vibration with a long tele or zoom lens. With a sturdy one, you can use slower shutter speeds and lower ISO-higher resolution films. If you own a shaky tripod, tie a three to five pound weight to the center column for added stability.

Physically long teles should have tripod-mounting collars to attach the lens at the proper fulcrum to the tripod rather than the camera. You can also use a secondary support for the camera like Bogen's Long Lens Support. This telescoping brace attaches to most tripod legs via a universal clamp at one end and a swivel ball head for the camera at the other. The brace makes it more difficult to change camera position, but it considerably lessens the effects of vibration.

If you're on shaky ground, tripods won't help. They'll actually transmit the motion right to the lens and camera. It's better to handhold the camera if you can set a reasonable shutter speed, and let your body damp the vibration.

Atmospheric haze and heat waves can't always be eliminated, but using a haze or polarizing filter can help cut through the haze and increase color saturation and contrast. Also, use your lens hood, or shade the lens, to minimize the possibility of flare.

Few techniques in photography require more expertise and skill than the successful use of a long tele or zoom lens. If you want to become more proficient, practice, practice, practice!

Making Sure Your Wireless Home Network Is Secure

As more and more people make the switch from wireless networks to secure networks in their homes, there are a whole new range of security issues to be aware of. Too often people set up their wireless network and forget about the security implications.

However, this can be a serious oversight as people can easily access your personal information and is a common cause of fraud. In this article we advise you on some of the steps you can take to make sure your wireless network is secure.

Almost all computers with recent operating system and wireless capabilities will have the option to turn on a built in firewall. If you are using an older operating system you may want to install a third party firewall. Although this alone will not stop third parties from accessing your network, it will act to secure each computer on the network from unwanted network requests.

Creating secure user accounts is also advisable. Weak username / password combinations are exploitable should a hacker try to gain access to your networked computer via your wireless network. Stronger passwords will generally contain mixed case alphanumeric characters. You can easily find advice on writing secure passwords on the internet.

Most wireless routers allow you to access their configuration with your web browser. Be sure to change the default username and password that allows you to administrate your router to prevent unwanted access. If you do not, almost anyone could breach your network.

In addition, every network capable computer will have at least one MAC address that identifies it on your network. Granting access to your wireless network based on MAC addresses will filter out unwanted users and network capable devices. It is not foolproof, but it will discourage most would-be hackers.

Wireless routers also broadcast an SSID which is basically a name of the network that appears when a computer picks up its signal. By default, this will usually be the name of the manufacturer of your wireless router. Many companies identify their networks using the SSID and it can be a handy way to identify Wi-Fi hotspots when you are out and about. However, for the sake of your home network it is not really necessary so it is a good idea to stop broadcasting it entirely.

It should also be possible to encrypt the data that is sent between computers on your wireless network. However, you must ensure that all computers have the same encryption settings.

One of the main reasons that wireless home networks can have security issues is because the signal can often reach beyond the boundaries of your home. One major financial institution recently lost millions of credit card records because it did not have its wireless system properly secured.

Another method that is commonly used to secure wireless networks is static IP addressing. IP addresses are often assigned automatically on wireless networks. However, networks are much more secure if the IP addresses of all computers on a network are set by hand. This is not foolproof but will keep out casual hackers.

If possible, place your wireless router in a part of your house or apartment where the signal will not travel too far beyond the boundaries of your home. If your home overlooks a street, do not put your router too close to this part of your home. In addition, if you are going on vacation or are going to be away for an extended period of time you should turn your router off while you are gone.

Even if you do not have a wireless network in you own home, it is important to know how to keep your notebook secure when you are out and about. You should make sure that your notebook does not auto-connect to other wireless networks. By default, both Windows and Mac OSX will display a warning before connecting to unknown networks and both will allow you to identify which networks you trust for automatic connection. When you are connecting to outside networks that you do not know, make sure that your firewall is turned on.

Too many people overlook the importance of securing their wireless networks. The steps outlined above should not take long to implement. While they may not guarantee 100% security, they are likely to deter any would-be hackers.

These are just some of the steps you can take to make your home wireless network more secure. There are millions of networks out there that are very poorly protected so if you take the time to put even a few of these safeguards in place you will most likely deter any would-be hackers.

Do Not Drink And Drive - If You Do, At Least Consider This

Drinking and driving is not only dangerous for the other guy but also the driver and the passengers of the car itself. You should refrain from drinking and driving as there is a significantly increased risk of car accidents, damage to property and injury to people. Prevention is always better than cure. Hence, drinking and driving should not go together … in fact it is stupid. Heavy penalties can be impounded on the accused, like suspension of driver's license, fines, a term in jail and confiscation of vehicle registration plates.

Every year there are thousands of people getting hurt or dying due to the drinking and driving. About 20% of the traffic fatalities all over the world take place due to drunk driving. We, like responsible citizens, should understand the ill effects of drunk driving and refrain from doing it. DUI or Drinking under the Influence of Intoxicants may cause problems in the present and in the future. The police should carry random checks on drunk drivers, especially at night to catch the offenders and reduce the menace. A breath analyzer test is the most common test used to catch the offenders.

Also, studies show that half of the offenders caught were not under the influence of alcohol but other banned substances like drugs. Parents should warn their children against drunk driving and show their own daily lives to their children by example. They should make their children understand the importance of being a responsible citizen. And, they should do nothing to bring any harm or any injury to people including something as irresponsible as drunk driving.

There are certain measures that can be implemented to curb drunk driving. Regular checks for drunk drivers on the road can be carried out by the law. Offenders should be severely punished in the form of levying heavy fines and penalties. Licenses of regular offenders should be suspended or terminated. Rehabilitation programs should be conducted for those people who can't kiss the habit goodbye. Every state should provide adequate information on the bad effects of DUI at the time of the driver's exams.

Many cars will have technological devices available like alarm systems in case the driver inside falls asleep. They will soon be fitted with anti collision devices so that the car brakes automatically if it is about to crash with another object in the front or the back.

Remember by being a responsible citizen you set an example to other people as well. Do not unnecessarily force others to drink at your parties. See to it that the party gets over well within time so that people can leave early. And also provide alternate means of transportation for those that do drink.

If you are arrested for DUI, then hiring a DUI lawyer proves to be the best decision. Driving under the influence can have serious consequences on you if you are involved in a car accident. You may face consequences like jail or prison, penalties or fines, vehicle impoundment, etc. The DUI lawyer is familiar with the intricacies and procedures involved with DUI charges and are your best bet if you find yourself in such a predicament.

Stock Photos That Sell

If you want to make money with stock photography you'll have to follow some basic guidelines, no matter if you shoot for a micro stock site or a traditional stock photography agency.

Shoot photos that sell

That's by far the most important point. Would you pay for an image of your neighbors mother-in-law? Or of his dog? Of course not! No one would, perhaps not even your neighbor himself.

Likewise professional photo buyers don't care for that kind of images. What they are looking for are photos that illustrate concepts, like career, relationship or retirement. Business related photos generally sell very well. Photos of handshakes sell well because shaking hands is a universal, widely understood idea that can be used to illustrate negotiations, contracts, treaties and even things like breaking-up or divorce.

Travel photography can sell well if it can be used to illustrate concepts. For example, a photo of the Houses of Parliament in London can be used to illustrate democracy or governmental topics.

Avoid legal pitfalls

Most stock photography agencies have strict rules regarding images of people (if the people in the photo are recognizable), property (if the image of the property can lead to its owner, e.g. a license plate on a car), and trademarked logos or items anywhere in the image. If in doubt, don't submit such images. If you want to sell images with recognizable people in them, all agencies will require you to provide so called "model releases". A model release is a document with which the photographed person permits you to sell the image without need of compensation. Obtaining a signed model release from ordinary people is next to impossible, so you might be better off to either weed those images out or hire professional models.
Keywording is the key to success, literally

No matter how good your photos are, they won't sell if no one can find them. All stock sites let you tag or keyword your images. A good approach to keywording is to answer six simple questions for each image: Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?

For example, let's suppose you have a bunch of nice healthcare related images, shot in a hospital. Answering "Who?" you might find "doctor", "nurse", or "patient". Answer "What" to come up with "lancet" or "stethoscope". Answering "Where" yields "hospital", "waiting room" or "theatre", while "When" gives "morning", "afternoon" or any other time of day or year. Ask yourself "Why" to evoke concepts like "sickness", "comfort" or "patience". Finally "How" can refer to the photographic technique involved: It could be "black and white" or "monochrome", it might be "blurred" et cetera.

Keep the noise down

Always keep in mind that the end user of your image may want to print it out eventually. The larger the print size the more noticeable noise will be. Noise is induced by your digital camera's sensor and is something digital photographers have to live with, much like traditional photographers had to live with film grain. Generally speaking the smaller (area wise) the sensor size and the higher the ISO sensitivity the higher the noise will be.

Discover Your Genius Within

The functions of the right and left brain are only a small portion of the potential that comprises THE MIND. The mind and the brain are two very different things. You can think of the brain as the hard drive of the computer and the mind as the software. Your mind is the intelligence that is in every cell, every system and every organ of your body. It is that intangible, incredible, and awe-inspiring part of you that thinks, remembers, sorts information, makes judgments, forms habits, discerns, distinguishes, communicates and otherwise makes you who you are. It is the genius within.

Your mind takes in all information through the five senses (sight, touch, hearing, smell and taste). You can liken the five senses to the keyboard on the computer. You receive input through your senses, your "data entry" system. Your brain then stores, categorizes and utilizes this information. A genius knows how to access that information and then apply it in discovering the solutions to any problems that may arise. It is therefore essential that you discover your own individual style for gathering and communicating information.

Some of us process sensory input more effectively through visual means, others through auditory stimuli, and others through a kinesthetic (a touch or feel) approach. Here's a very simple way to begin to contemplate which way your genius accesses information. Imagine for a moment that you are buying a new item of clothing for an important meeting. Would you be most influenced to buy primarily for a) the color and style of the outfit; b) the benefits the salesperson tells you about the clothing; c) the texture and feel of the fabric. If you chose "A", your brain receives information primarily through visual means. If you chose "B", you perceive information primarily through auditory means. If "C", you most likely access information through kinesthetic means.

Everyone learns and communicates in all three of these modes. However, most people have developed a natural preference, and tend to use one method more frequently. As an awakening genius, it's your goal to become aware of your preference and then strive to strike a balance between all three modes: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.

Are you willing to stretch your abilities by consciously choosing to use your other senses more? Can you imagine the benefits of opening your mind to receive ALL the input from the world around you? Doing so will give you an awareness of an exciting world that's been there all along, but which you may have been missing.

It is natural for you to use what is comfortable, but the awakened genius is willing to grow. Like the turtle, you won't go far without coming out of your shell. You will be pleasantly surprised as you practice using and developing your other senses. You will notice how your memory improves and how easy it becomes for you to make choices. You will discover a whole new world of communication. Once you learn to create a balance in perception, you will be well on your way to thinking holographically – and using the full power of your genius!

Online DVD Movie Clubs! Where Entertainment And Convenience Come Together

Like one big happy family, online DVD Movie Clubs have become a popular choice among families and individuals that are searching for movie rentals with the online services and convenience! Not only do they offer convenient special features, but also their value and additional benefits are far more valuable over renting at your local movie store!

For many of you that still rent at local video stores, it may be a little transition for you to join a DVD Club, and it will take a bit of getting used to having your movie and games arrive via your mail box several days later after your initial order. However, once your movies and game choices arrive, there will be an excitement that will come over you because most, if not all, people love to receive packages in their mail.

It's fun, and all your title choices and top releases you picked online will be ready to watch and enjoy when they arrive at your door. The best thing about being part of a movie rental club is that you don't have to worry about sending them back right away, and you'll never experience late fees again!

I know it's spring, and soon it will be summer, but winter is never too far away, and when the downpour of rain or the blizzards of snow arrive, and it becomes really cold and dark out, you will truly be relieved knowing you don't have to jump in a cold car, and drive all the way to your video store to return your videos, especially the ones you haven't finished watching yet.

What Are The Benefits Of Renting Movies and Video Games Online?

For many years we had only one choice, and that was to rent from the local Blockbuster, or the independent store that smelled like mothballs and old attics. If you didn't live close to the bigger rental stores, you were limited to what they had available when you finally arrived.

With unlimited rentals online available through your choice of club store, you can easily have access to thousands of releases, downloads, and DVD reviews that will help you decide on whether the movie you want to rent is going to be the one you really desire to watch. Nothing is more annoying than getting a movie or game home to find out it was truly a complete flop!

There are many times your movie club will offer you periodic club offers and specials, and how often do you get that from your local rental store? If they happen to offer you any deal, it's because they know they're about to lose you to the online competitors.

When you do the actual comparison of online rental clubs versus your local video outlets, the smart choice is taking advantage of the online rental services the movie entertainment stores provide. Online renting is growing dramatically, and more people are experiencing the value and the overall convenience they offer.

You can still support your local movie store for quick last minute movie decisions, but when it comes to getting exactly what you want in title selections, and the fact that you don't have to ever worry about sending them back late with a penalty, those are features that are going to please many video enthusiasts for many years to come!

Thermal transfer ribbon no need to replace ink cartridges or ribbons.

in Hardware

Thermal paper is cleaner than your standard ink, produces a crisper resolution, and is ultimately cheaper. Though thermal paper used to be considerably more expensive, the price has come down in recent years, thanks in part to better technology that allows its manufacturers to produce it at a more reasonable cost. Moreover, a thermal paper roll is quieter than bond paper, which is an added bonus for any shopper at the end of a long day.

A wide variety of color combinations are available by using different colored rolls of paper. Choose from various color printing on white paper, or black printing on a various colored papers. Standard paper is even available in fluorescent yellow.

Thermal transfer ribbons come in three main types - wax, wax-resin or pure resin and are almost always black (other colors sometimes used are red and blue). These different types are made to print onto different label materials and are used when the life of the label needs to be long or the labels needs to survive harsh environments. Wax ribbons are for printing onto paper labels, where the life of the label can be years but must be kept dry and must not be abraded or subjected to certain chemicals or oil, which would melt the wax image. Wax-resin ribbons product a finer image on very smooth paper or coated paper labels. The printed image is much more durable than wax, but can still only stand slight contact with water. Finally pure resin ribbons are formulated to print onto plastic labels such as polyester, polypropylene and vinyl. The "ink" is designed to slightly dissolve into or adhere to the plastic surface of the label and becomes extremely durable, depending on the plastic material and ribbon make used.

You can buy thermal paper from your local office store and pay more, or you can order it in bulk along with your POS paper and other cash register supplies. Purchasing over the Internet also gives you added convenience -- you can modify your order with just a few mouse clicks, buy additional products, or speak with customer service about any questions you might have. So don't spend precious hours sitting in your car trying to cram in a quick stop at the office store between work and home. Go online and save your money--both on thermal paper and other office necessities.

Tactical Flashlights and other Important Equipment on a Police Duty Belt

in Society

The police duty belt contains the equipment that a police or security officer must carry with them at all times. These items vary by municipality, but generally include handcuffs, a police flashlight, radio, a baton, a handgun and ammunition and pepper spray, mace or other chemical spray. Each of the items carried on the police officer's duty belt is a high performance, heavy duty piece of potentially lifesaving equipment.

DEMANDING JOB, HIGH PERFORMANCE EQUIPMENT

The police officer is in a high stress job that can become dangerous at a moments notice. When we think of the needs of a police officer, we often think of the defensive weapons they carry, such as a handgun or a baton. While these items do make up an integral part of the high performance duty belt, they are certainly not the only part.

It is important then that the officer have the highest quality, reliable equipment. By carrying a tactical flashlight in the duty belt, as well as extra batteries and a replacement bulb, the officer can be secure in knowing that the flashlight that he has will work when the need arises. In fact, most police officer's carry more than one flashlight, often one battery operated and one rechargeable police flashlight.

THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT

The equipment that a police officer carries on his duty belt can save his life. With few exceptions, the gear that is carried is decided by the municipality where the officer is employed. Most duty belts will consist of a handgun and holster, additional ammunition, a tactical flashlight, a radio and holster, handcuffs, and a baton. In addition, some municipalities carry chemical sprays, such as pepper spray or mace, and some carry battery powered stunning devices.

Most officers will also carry their own small notebooks and ink pen, and may also carry a cell phone. The decision on what an officer carries with him in the field must balance the needs of keeping the officer safe and being realistic in what the officer can actually carry. It is always a judgment call when deciding what should be carried and what should be left off the belt.

The handgun and holster, radio, and tactical flashlight are not lightweight items, but heavy duty, high performance equipment. While it is always advisable to be over prepared for any situation, particularly in a high pressure situation such as law enforcement, it is not always possible. A police duty belt that weighs so much that it fatigues the police officer, shifts around when he runs after a suspect, or does not allow free movement is more of a hinderer than a help.

All of the equipment that is carried by the police officer on his duty belt must be evenly distributed across the belt so that it is less likely to shift or cause back strain. The officer becomes accustomed to the location of each of the tools located on his belt and they become an extension of his hands. The duty belt is an important and lifesaving piece of equipment, possibly the most important part of the police officer's uniform.

New Faces Across the Board

As the drama of Kentucky Derby 132 continues to unfold, one will find the stage filled with a refreshing cast of new characters seeking the glory that is the Run for the Roses. Jockey legends Jerry Bailey, Gary Stevens, and Pat Day, who, between them, own six Derby winning mounts, have left the scene to curtain calls; John Velasquez, an heir apparent to the void left by these giants of the sport, is sidelined with a broken shoulder. Rising stars such as Rafael Bejarano, Garret Gomez, and John McKee, and stalwarts such as Corey Nakatani and Alex Solis are poised to finally grab the brass ring. Perennial Derby trainers D. Wayne Lukas and Nick Zito have failed the audition, with no Derby mounts, replaced by upstart stand-ins Michael Matz, Dan Hendricks, and Michael Trombetta who bring their respective horses Barbaro, Brother Derek, and Sweetnorthernsaint, fresh and primed to tackle the mile and one quarter slugfest. However, the most intriguing of new faces on this Derby Day may well be the ones you won't see at Churchill Downs. Their impact may well determine the outcome of this wide-open affair. Their names are Benchmark, Sweetsouthernsaint, Point Given, Broken Vow, Aptitude, King Cugat, and Strategic Mission, sires whose progeny will be represented in the Kentucky Derby for the first time, and who stand to gain from earning the imprimatur of sire of a Kentucky Derby winner.

Benchmark, the sire of Dan Hendricks trained Brother Derek, is himself a son of the great classic runner Alydar, who won the hearts of racing fans with his memorable duels with Triple Crown winner Affirmed. Benchmark was both a graded stakes winner at 1 1/8 miles and graded stakes placed sprinter, and, in his first four crops to race has been a useful sire of California breds and a handful of stakes winners. Brother Derek is by far his most impressive son and is certainly the top class of this year's West Coast contingent. As talented and seasoned as Brother Derek is, the Derby may be the place where his flaws are revealed. In his only race outside of California and in a field larger than eight horses, the Breeder's Cup Juvenile at Belmont, he finished a tired fourth. With a penchant for getting worked up in the post parade, jockey Alex Solis must help Brother Derek find a way to handle the large boisterous Churchill Downs crowd. Nevertheless, Brother Derek's meteoric rise to prominence is a hopeful sign that Alydar's courageous blood has gotten a much needed revival.

Sweetnorthernsaint, a gelding son of Florida stallion Sweetsouthernsaint, has become a wild card of sorts in the Derby mix. It appears the further the distance Sweetnorthernsaint runs, the better, and this should give anyone handicapping the Derby something to think about. His jockey, Kent Desormeaux, has practically declared the mile and a half Belmont Stakes his to lose. Considering the fact that the Belmont Stakes is more a jockey's race than a stamina test, he'd better be prepared to back up his bold words. Sweetsouthernsaint, with two crops to race, was a precocious two year old runner in Florida who never quite got on the Derby trail due to injuries. But, as a son of the prolific late Saint Ballado, the sire of reigning Horse of the Year, Saint Liam, as well as champion distaffer, Ashado, both of whom were grade 1 winners at a mile and quarter, and sporting a classic staying low dosage index of 1.22 himself, Sweetsouthernsaint's offspring seem capable of getting the distance. Sweetnorthernsaint's dosage of 1.33 suggests the fruit does not fall far from the tree, and, if the Michael Trombetta trained gelding gets a clean trip, the pickings might be good.

Point Given, Broken Vow, Aptitude, Strategic Mission, and King Cugat are all stallions represented in the Kentucky Derby by members of their first crop, which undoubtedly pleases their breeding farms, but also adds an element of the unknown to the handicapping calculus. Point Determined is a Maryland bred son of Preakness and Belmont Stakes winner Point Given, and is owned by The Bob and Beverly Lewis Trust, which has won the Kentucky Derby twice before, with Silver Charm and Charismatic. Point Determined has knocked heads with the likes of Brother Derek, A.P. Warrior, and Bob and John all winter in California, and enters the Derby without a stakes win to his credit. However, his driving second place finish in the Santa Anita Derby, a series of bullet works since then, and with Rafael Bejarano in the irons, he is a dangerous horse. Point Given entered the Kentucky Derby as the prohibitive favorite, and had he not been subjected to the torrid pace of that race, the subsequent Horse of the Year would have been a Triple Crown winner, a racing superstar, and worth considerably more than his $50,000 stud fee. Bob Baffert, who trained Point Given, as well as Point Determined, may be a bit more subdued these days, but, with three live shots in this year's Derby, along with Sinister Minister and Bob and John, he is in Louisville loaded for bear. A Point Determined win would also be a poignant and fitting epitaph for the late Bob Lewis, one of racing's true gentlemen, who passed away this February.

Broken Vow, the sire of the Steven Asmussen trained Private Vow, is a son of the memorable 1990 Derby winner Unbridled, who also sired Kentucky Derby winner Grindstone, Preakness winner Red Bullet, and Belmont Stakes winner Empire Maker. Although Private Vow has run only twice this year, beaten by Lawyer Ron both times at Oaklawn Park, he remains a seasoned horse with a graded stakes win on the Churchill Downs strip and a recent bullet work there, to boot. Broken Vow was a late developing graded stakes winner with an impressive female family. His dam and grand dam, sired by Nijinsky II and Blushing Groom, respectively, were both stakes producers. When you add Private Vow's dam sire, leading broodmare sire, Deputy Minister, you have a horse that, on paper, has a classic winning pedigree.

The sire of the late closing Steppenwolfer, Aptitude, finished second in both the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes, and is, himself, a son of the Horse of the Year and a producer of classic runner A.P. Indy. Armed with a most intriguing of pedigrees, Aptitude delivers a variety of classic blood close up in his pedigree, including the aforementioned A.P. Indy, Derby winners Seattle Slew, Secretariat, and Northern Dancer, as well as inbreeding to Buckpasser. At four, Aptitude won two grade ones, the Jockey Club Gold Cup and the Hollywood Gold Cup, and a grade two, the Saratoga Breeder's Cup, at a mile and a quarter. More anecdotal than anything else, Steppenwolfer's great-great grand dam sire was the great Citation, a Triple Crown winner. Lawyer Ron may have had Steppenwolfer's [named after the rock band Steppenwolf] number all winter at Oaklawn Park, but, if the Derby pace is as contested as expected, he may be the one on the magic carpet ride to the winner's circle.

Sailing his way into the Derby is Seaside Retreat, a stakes winner in Canada who also placed in the Grade 2 Lane's End on Turfway Park's Polytrack surface. Seaside Retreat's sire, King Cugat, was a graded stakes winner on the grass going 9 and 11 furlongs, and graded stakes placed going 12 furlongs. A son of the impeccably bred Kingmambo, who sired Belmont Stakes winner Lemon Drop Kid, King Cugat's offspring seem much better suited to running long on the grass. However, Seaside Retreat's recent bullet work at Churchill Downs has convinced his Canadian based trainer, Mark Casse, and regular jockey, Patrick Husbands, to rendezvous at the Derby.

Showing Up, the lightly raced but gutsy winner of the Lexington Stakes, is a son of Strategic Mission, a New York stallion whose first crop consists of a mere 14 named foals. Barclay Tagg trains the undefeated Showing Up, the lesser half of Roy and Gretchen Jackson's Lael Stables' two horse two trainer Derby delegation that includes another undefeated colt Barbaro, a possible morning line favorite who is trained by Michael Matz and will be ridden by the always dangerous Edgar Prado. Tagg, who caught lightning in a bottle with Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Funny Cide, certainly has his work cut out for him. Not only does Showing Up have only three career starts, but his sire, Strategic Mission, a son of Mr. Prospector, was a turf miler and only an okay one at that. Named for the old Woody Allen line that "80 percent of success is showing up," Showing Up will need to do much more than that if he's the one taking the Jackson family to the winner's circle.

As difficult as the Derby trail is, just showing up is certainly an achievement. Getting to the finish line first, though, is the Holy Grail, and, in this year's edition, the fresh new faces may just be smiling in the winner's circle.

Top Tips For SEO

in SEO

SEO = search engine optimization. Good search results are essential to your site. Many people do not go beyond the first page of the results pages so you need to ensure that your site is search engine optimised or you wont get any traffic never mind the right sort of traffic – traffic that brings you business that is.

So what are the things you need to do to have a chance to rank well? As every search engine has a different "algorithm" (which just means a mathematical rule or procedure for solving a problem) and each "algorithm" has literally hundreds of inputs this may seem like an impossible question to answer. And to answer it with 100% accuracy is impossible but there are certain things that have a major effect that you must do just to stand a chance.

1. Make sure that your site is technically sound and well built with plain English page titles rather than: sessionid=4D6BE5993FFF956660C27184A2F39E81.TC30a?__frame=_top and with all "non HTML" code (HTML = Hypertext Markup Language and is the basic language used to write web pages) called in from separate directories.

2. Choose keywords and phrases very carefully. Keywords should be the words that customers actually use to find your site when using a search engine. Amazingly most people just ignore this basic fact and never get any research done on the subject!!! That's like turning up to the airport with no money, no ticket and no passport and expecting to get on a plane – in other words: nuts!

3. Once you know what keywords to use write a page with a relevant page title for each keyword or phrase using simple language with variations of the keyword or phrase to reach a keyword density of about 5 – 8% and about 500 words per page minimum with paragraphs that use tags in their sub headings. Make sure that your keyword(s) or phrase(s) appear in each of your pages' "meta tags". Make sure that ll you photos have descriptions.

4. Find a way to build up the relevant links to your site from other sites. Search engines view inbound links as a vote for your site. Therefore, in general, the more incoming links to relevant parts of your site from relevant "anchor text" (the visible text in a hyperlink you click to go to another page or website) on other sites the higher your page will rank, but the linking sites must be relevant and links from disreputable sites can harm your ranking.

5. Continually add new content. Sites that continually add new content and new pages get better rankings because search engines like new relevant content. Search engines' "spiders" or "web crawlers" are a program that browses the World Wide Web in a methodical, automated manner. Web crawlers create a copy of all the visited pages for later processing by a search engine that then indexes those pages to provide fast searches. Spiders are always on the lookout for fresh content.

6. Put up a site map which shows every page on the site and has a link to it. This will help the search engine robots find every page. If you are updating regularly then an XML site map for Google that "pings" Google about every update should be added too.

7. Make sure you have basic management information about the site – how many visitors, where they go, where they leave etc. Arguably this is just as important as the site itself as it allows you to improve it based on actual results.

8. Finally – build a site for people that is interesting to people. No point in being at the top of the search engines if people just refuse to stay or buy!!! People generally stay on sites that are relevant to what they are looking for at the time, are easy to navigate, easy to read and easy to buy from. Whilst they like "prettily designed" sites form tend to be less important than relevance and ease of use. They also like interacting via chat rooms or watching relevant "movies".

Academic Studies Abroad Offers Unique Study Abroad Options in Sevilla, Spain

Boston, MA – June 19, 2006 – Academic Studies Abroad, a leader in study abroad programs to Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, and England is pleased to offer students the opportunity to take classes in English or Spanish at a Spanish university.

While options exist in Sevilla for Americans to take courses in English, it is either at facilities where there are no Spaniards or at a university on the outskirts of the city.

"Taking course only with other Americans defeats the purpose of going to Sevilla, especially when opportunities exist for taking courses at a Spanish university. We at ASA are proud that our students who are not advanced at Spanish have the option of taking courses in English at a Spanish university," said Lee Frankel, Director of Academic Studies Abroad.

Students on the ASA program in Sevilla live with a host family, attend both day and overnight excursions throughout Spain, and have tutoring available from on-site staff. These three things help students not only improve their level of fluency, but also help them gain a better understand of the Spanish culture.

Located in the south of Spain, approximately three and a half hours south of Madrid by high speed train, Sevilla is home to one of the most famous cathedrals and bullrings in Spain. A laid-back lifestyle and typically beautiful weather is what attracts so many students and tourists to Sevilla.
